Injectable Filler Safety - Study

Injectable filler materials play an increasingly important part in Aesthetic Medicine. They are used for the correction of mimic wrinkles as well as compensation for age or disease related volume deficiencies. A great variety of biodegradable and non biodegradable fillers are currently used in Europe. As these products are defined not as drugs but as medical products only very few clinical trials exist that give sufficient information on the efficacy and safety.

The aim of the study is to register adverse events to these injectable filler materials in the German-speaking areas of Europe. This study is ongoing and expected to give safety profiles for the individual biodegradable and non biodegradable materials. - read more -
